Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about our surface preparation, coating systems, timelines, and warranties.

What services does Floormasters Group provide? Services
We specialize in concrete surface preparation (grinding, crack repair, leveling), moisture mitigation, epoxy and polyaspartic coating systems, decorative flake or metallic finishes, sealing, and restoration for commercial, industrial, and residential projects.
Which brands and systems do you use?Products
We integrate proven technologies from Torginol, Bartell Global, PowerCOAT Canada, and ARDEX Americas — ensuring consistent quality, performance, and finish in every system we install.
Do you work outside Victoria, BC?Service Area
Yes. We are based in Victoria and serve all of Vancouver Island. For remote sites, we coordinate mobilization, travel, and scheduling as part of each project plan.
How long does an epoxy or polyaspartic floor take to install?Timeline
Typical small commercial areas (800–1,200 sq ft) require 1–3 days for prep and installation, plus 12–72 hours of curing time depending on system type and temperature.
What are the differences between epoxy and polyaspartic?System Choice
Epoxy: excellent adhesion, chemical resistance, and thicker build; slower cure.
Polyaspartic: faster cure and return-to-service, UV stable, and highly abrasion resistant.
We’ll recommend the best option for your project’s needs and environment.
Can you address moisture issues in concrete?Moisture
Yes. We perform professional moisture testing and install vapor-control primers and mitigation systems to ensure coating adhesion and prevent future delamination.
How durable and slip-resistant are your floors?Performance
Our coatings are engineered for high traffic and impact. Slip resistance is adjustable using aggregate textures to balance safety, traction, and cleanability.
What surface preparation do you perform?Prep
We mechanically grind or shot-blast to a CSP profile, repair cracks and joints, patch or level uneven areas, and fully clean substrates — ensuring perfect coating adhesion.
Do you offer warranties?Warranty
Yes. We provide workmanship warranties and pass through applicable manufacturer warranties based on the system and environment. Warranty terms are documented in your proposal.
What about VOCs and indoor air quality?Safety
We specify low-VOC or VOC-compliant systems where needed and ensure ventilation standards are met. Safety compliance for your site and our crew is standard practice.
How should I maintain my coated floor?Maintenance
Routine dust-mopping, neutral-pH cleaning, and prompt spill removal are recommended. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive pads unless specified. We provide a maintenance guide with every installation.
What are your typical payment terms?Billing
Our standard terms are outlined in each proposal. Common structure includes a deposit upon acceptance, progress billing for longer projects, and balance due at substantial completion.
